先前寫了編有關 ‘決定時刻’ Decisive Moment 的 post。未收到太多回應。
剛收到朋友的電郵得知 Google Video 有一段 Bresson 的訪問片段，今次他用英語接受訪問，差不多一個小時的談話，希望大家看過後能更了解他的思路！
今次我暫且不去翻譯或意譯這訪問記。不過有幾段較為重要的訪問內容值得在此提出討論。
首先它解說了所謂 ‘the photograph comes to me’ 其實是他對事物的觸角及接收力，當他感覺到是按下快門的時候，那便是相片完成的一刻。至於別人對他精湛的構圖美學，他說一切都是由幾何圖像開始。
又問及為何他認為攝影是沒有得學時， Bresson 認為懂得如何用食指按下快門便可，其它一切都是靠感覺…
他又提及拍攝時不要靠腦袋決定 ‘not the brain’ … ‘the brain is a bit danger’，換句話說，他盡量把當時的感受作判斷事物的關鍵！
至於裁剪相片的看法，Bresson 認為既然在拍攝時已 ‘滿足了自己的眼睛’ ‘satisfy your eyes’，那還有什麼空間可以裁去呢？把拍攝後的影像裁剪就好像把自己的手砍掉一樣！
看過這段五十多分鐘的片段後，我更加覺得他被’神話化’，他的成功我想其實主要是他有敏感的觸角和觀察力。他的自信令他不容思考便按下快門。當然他不是每一張都是傑作 (我一廂情願的結論而矣)！
*在 Bresson 去世後美國紐約現代美術館 MoMA 再次為這位大師舉辦展覽會，而同一節目主持 Charlie Rose 為這個展覽做了一個專輯。嘉賓包括 Bresson 第二任太太，本身也是 Magnum Photo 的攝影師的， Martine Franck, Peter Galassi， MoMA 攝影總監及 Henri Cartier Bresson 基金會的總監 Agnes Sire。這段訪問我覺得最大的發現是在中段主持人 Charlie Rose 用上 ‘Decisive Moment’ ‘決定時刻’時才從 Martine Franck 口中得知Bresson 一向都不喜歡別人用這個名詞去形容他 ，而 Peter Galassi 更指出 ‘Decisive Moment’ 只是 Bresson 在美國第一次出版影集時出版商 Simon & Schuster 為他選擇的英語書名。其實影集法文名稱是 ‘Images à la Sauvette’ 英語意譯是 pictures on the run 或 stolen images – 偷拍。Decisive Moment 只是後來的 Bresson 迷替大師加上的標籤，其實這樣反而令大師的作品被框了起來！

至此我仍然是認為好的內容，構圖及佈局就是最重要的成功因素！

You mean 'clue' or 'glue'?
I think this is a matter of consciousness and subconsciousness!
Like tasting wine, you do not learn the first few times, you need to brew it for some time. Reading good literatures, watching good movies, appreciate good painting, all with help you to make better artistic judgement! There you know what you are looking for when it happen in front of you! Sounds too easy!

The reason for him never crop the pictures is he believe he shoot properly. Good! I like this!
